I'm cancer free and the testing has revealed that I don't carry the defective gene. It has been a really troubling year and a half but there's only one way from here :)

That is wonderful news! I am so pleased for you :) ... NICE ONE!
:metoo:  Congrats on all appropriate levels

This is the first I've heard about it.  It's a sad thing.  I'll echo the sentiments that have already been expressed.  Thanks to all for making this such a welcoming place, and for the support and encouragement for those of us who came here, new to the concept of showing off our newly painted figures to anyone at all, let alone the world.  I myself found it rather stressful when I first started considering posting my work for all to see.

Thank you very much Andy for keeping this going, when you already had too much on the go.  Maybe I'll see some of you over at LAF if I ever do more that peruse the sale/wanted boards.  Maybe I'll have to figure out how the twit-thing works or get one of those insta-graham-cracker-whatevers to post pictures of painted works.

I started this thread almost 4 years ago.  I was working at my previous job then, and wasn't yet married.  How time goes by.  Whether he's finished now, or I'm just calling him so, I cannot decide.  Now will come picture taking and posting.  I hope that I can get that done this month, aweful thought that, needing a whole mother to get to that?  Provided the camera does not reveal horrible flaws that need fixing, thus causing depression and a lack of desire to proceed, it may happen.

What to paint now I wonder.

Further inspection of attempt three has given a positive outlook.  Must remember to paint his eyes.

His base seems to be impervious to all forms of attack.  I've made two attempts which have both been repelled, the third isn't looking promising.

It has been some long time since I have worked on this beast, or any miniature for that matter.  I haven't stopped aquiring more though.     Currently  I am seated at my painting desk and am very close to actually finishing this critter.  All I actually have left to do is finish the bits of body parts about his waist and base him.  Soon, I hope.  I must continue.

Seeing the employment position you've been searching/longing for for the last few years come up on a job board, except that it is with a disreputable company which you personally know has consistently failed to pay it's debts for at least the last 12 years, yet is somehow still operating.  I know because they were most of a year in arrears with my previous employer and are over a year in such with my current employer.  This is a business that had all of it's credit accounts forcibly closed and had it's warranty repair accreditation pulled by everyone involved.  We live in a smallish town and word gets around about bad service very quickly, yet somehow, money still finds them.  Unfathomable, and disappointing.  I really need to go into business for myself doing this same thing.

Hasslefree Babble / Archive Gallery?

Just out of curiosity and a pinch of nostalgia, has there ever been a thought of creating a gallery of images of retired figures?  If such pictorial evidence still exists?  Just a thought.  Or is such a thing out there now...?

Let the ridicule commence!

I've always thought that this guy could easily be used as a draghkar, for whatever reason you may have.  If you need any.

I ordered from them once a long time ago.  I don't remember the details and am in Canada so I didn't have any relevant comments so stayed quiet.

Is this comment even relevant?  Text messages just don't carry the Cheech and Chong, Daves not here man, stoner hippy surfer dude tone very well.  Am I making any sense?  Probs not.  Oh well.  What was the topic again?

Engine at the front makes it more vulnerable.  Better install some sort of reactive or ablative armor.  Unless that is the sections already on the front.  In which case; Good choice including reactive/ablative armor to protect the engine at the front.

It's a choose your own comment adventure story!  Who remembers those books?

I may be unpopular with this question, but maybe not eh?  But in a world wracked by zombie and other 'fad' shows who knows.

Does anyone else here use the streaming service Crunchyroll?  Now to why I'm asking.  I want to know if anyone has any recommendations for good fantasy and Sci-fi.  I don't want to waste my time with shows about people playing video games.  I've watched Sword Art Online, the first one mind you.  It was alright but it tried too hard to be a dot Hack successor.  Now, I do have dot Hack on DVD and thought it was brilliant, especially the end, which lead straight into the game, which I also enjoyed.  That was where the concept should have stopped.  A sort of, "Let's do this.  Ok, that's excellent.  No one ever do it again."

The main reason I signed up for CR was to watch the golden oldies, Galaxy Express 999, Captain Harlock, and Golion, but I also want to see some modern stuff, as these shows only have so many episodes.  Dubbing or subtitles don't matter.  I've also watched a few episodes of Fairy Tail and may still watch more.

OK let the scorn and abuse begin!

Over 24 hours in it hasn't stopped.  At all.  If it wasn't wet and heavy, we'd likely be able to measure over 50cm.  My street was cleared once yesterday afternoon, not again since.  I hope my flight tomorrow doesn't get cancelled.

Snow.

Yes.  I live in Canada.  However, I live on the west coast, which means Pacific Ocean.  Normally the currents of said body of water bring warmer water up from the equator, which in turn generally helps keep the air relatively warm.  A cold winter for us normally is at coldest -7 Celsius or there abouts with little to no snow.  But due to some kind of schwacked out pressure system overhead, last night we got snowed under.  In this region, a lot of snow is maybe 5 to 10 cm and is gone within the next day or two, in some cases in hours.  We got more than 20.  It stopped for a bit but is at it again.  Keep in mind the warm part.  This snow isn't light and fluffy.  It's wet and heavy and slushy.  Makes driving a bad time, and of course nobody here can drive in it.  So there it is.

Snow.  We hateses itses. :tantrum:

Revision.  I like to see it falling and I like to play in it for ten minutes but then it's dead to me and I have to get back to work.

Wow lol, I really missed the boat on answering your question.  Sorry about that.

I was talking about services inbound to Canada.  Leaving Canada is a horrifying story all its own.  One time when I ordered a package from Japan, I paid for express tracked shipping, estimated at 5 to 7 business days costing around $23 CAD.  When I picked it up from the postal office, the lady who I knew, proposed an experiment.  She asked me what shipping cost and services were on the package to see what it would cost going to Japan.  Once entered in and tallied up it would have cost about $97 CAD going out.  That is my favorite Canada Post poppycock story.  That was also about 4 years ago maybe less and it has only gotten worse.
