You make it over for next year Beefcake, and I'll buy lunch! I'm sure I owe you for some favour or other!

We should be there, but I may well be asleep. The intent is that I drive down to Derbyshire straight after seeing a gig at Whitby Gothic Weekend. Thankfully, it's a friend's turn to drive the Derbyshire to London leg!

I am well into my last month now :D

Down-hill all the way from here onwards!

That's got to feel strange.

I had my class firing rockets at me today...

Okay they were made out of paper and foam and powered by kids jumping on empty fizzy bottle but I didn't wear safety glasses. What a rebel.

If they need any advice on upping the threat level, I'm sure Inso and and I could advise.   :D

...Yes... I know... I am derailing the thread... but...

Hey, I started the thread, then answered my own question! I'm fine with 'outlandish and inappropriate uses for technology'.

In one lab I worked at we produced the best popgun ever. It was powered by 25 atmospheres of oxygen. We once accidentally took out a wolf spider with small cork at 20 feet. That was messy. And no, despite my arachnophobia, not deliberate.

I don't get to play with liquid gases any more, but they were fun too.

As an aside I saw a youtube clip of Mountain dew dissolve a rat over 30 days. Could be useful lol

Cocacola works faster.

Come on, I work in an industrial lab. If I really wanted to get rid of a rat corpse in a hurry, I have plenty of options!

My usual stripping mixture takes Milliput out easily, but GS is more resistant, hence my question (and answer!).

Should I every need to dispose of a rat corpse before the rodent police can pin anything on me, I'll bear that in mind beefcake.  :D

No problems! Acetone does the trick. It just takes a while.

I have a Battlefleet Gothic ship I bought second hand and it seems to be around 15% green stuff. I've tried my usual solvents of choice with little to no success. Does anyone out there have any recommendations? As always, thanks in advance for any help.

Best,
Mike

A 'Mind the step' sign for the rear door - i think a "Mind you head" sign may be more appropriate given that a) I've had so much trouble with the rear door height, and b) this will be manned by my Grymn.

So no clearance for human troops then? Are you thinking of marketing the finished item or will it be a one-off for you?

Thanks guys. I confess that while I've heard the 'purple' thang before, I've never tried it. I sense some experimentations coming up.

Questions and Answers / Shading yellows; any tips?
« on: November 26, 2014, 01:05:20 PM »
However I shade bright yellows (usually incrementally adding browns, heading darker and darker) it never quite looks right. I have a Knight Models Flash to paint and I really want the yellows to work on this. How do you all do it?

I picked my pack up this afternoon. INCREDIBLY generous lead pile. Thanks to (going alphabetical here!) Dameon, Jenn, Kev and Sally; you've all excelled anything we could have hoped. Looking through the miniatures, there's some lovely stuff there. Kudos to those who made the grade. Cheers all round.

Are you producing those 3D bits or are they purely for personal use? Everything looks very cool.

Absolutely loving those gates! I want all three (and a custom one too!). I have no need of any more cemetery scenery, but I know it's just a matter of time before I submit! *sigh*

Suggestions (HF) / Re: Superheros
« on: August 21, 2014, 08:33:14 PM »
There is a huge gap in the miniature world, not enough quality super heros.

I'd love to see some generic 'superfigs' style of superheros, but done in that fantastic quality of Hasslefree.

Dudes and dudettes with huge muscles, spandex, cowls, capes, utility belts, etc. etc.

That's very true. Crossover Miniatures do some useful stuff, BUT it all seems a little staid; without flair. And let's face it, superheroes need to be impressive!
