Heresy / Re: Maggotmen
« on: October 21, 2015, 01:13:30 PM »
In the desert
I saw a creature, naked, bestial
Who, squating upon the ground
Held his heart in his heart
And ate of it
Is it good, friend? I asked
It is bitter bitter, he answered
But I like it
Because it is bitter
And because it is my heart

Suggestions (HF) / Archer arms for the multi-part goblins
« on: September 10, 2015, 08:30:23 PM »
As it says on the title.

I'd love to see the options for the multi-part goblins expanded with pairs of arms to make them into archers, and quivers.

You know that suits goblins' sneaky nature.

Actually, I reckon that a 28mm star destroyer would roughly be the sized of a house.

So it wouldn't be "build a 28mm scale star destroyer" so much as "convert your house into a 28mm scale star destroyer".
See? Much easier! :saberfight:

Another vote for "clean". Two cents/reasons:

1) Some people will want them clean, others will want them filthy. But it's always easier to add something to a mini than removing it. So it's the better compromise.

2) You can't keep sculting a mini forever. Remember the dragon? The first problem was that it took ages to sculpt. You must learn that lesson, and know when to stop sculpting.

Funnily, after having read it yesternight, I listened to some music. The first song was Axel Rudi Pell's "I will survive". This is its chorus:

I will survive,
I've been down on my knees too long
I will survive,
I'll get back on my feet again
I will survive,
I've been holding on too long
I will survive, I will rise up,
'cause tomorrow is already gone

It was one of those "something in the universe has just clicked into place" moments.

Your thoughts on the subject, ladies & gentlemen?

Do a goggle search for images of 80's glam and hair metal.
Bands such as Twisted Sister, Motley Crue, Poison, Ratt... And eternals like Kiss, of course!
And not only glam bands. Heavy metal ones sported seriously kitsch looks during the eighties: the first years of Iron Maiden, Helloween or Manowar are a gold mine for over-the-top metalness.

Last week I bought the gold dragon from this game.

To be honest it's a tad small; but actually that's not bad for a boardgame gaming piece, which is the use I'll give it. And now I'm waiting for a young bronze dragon to arrive (which will be re-painted as a steel dragon).

Your "touch-ups" are as inspiring as always, Bulldog. :applause:

EDIT: Actually, it's not the "Attack Wing" dragons that I have purchased, but the "D&D Minis" ones. Which are exactly the same miniatures, but minus the tokens and cards and fancy bases; so they are cheaper! As I only care for the minis, I'm OK with that.

Thanks for the offer, but time ago I switched to digital comics. More than you can ever dream of reading in one 10" tablet!

Is it the new Aquaman? From the latest DC reboot? If so, a friend of mine says that it's a very good comic (though I haven't read it, I generally trust my friend's judgement).

I'm not going to the middle east, I am now going to the Falkland Islands.
I'm not going for a six month tour, it will be four months instead.
I won't be going in March, I'll be going December 27th (this coming Saturday).
So it is going to be Christmas at home, New year in the Falklands and a return trip at the end of April.
Not that bad, then.

... and when I get back, I am quitting the RAF :o so there are going to be interesting times ahead :)
That, I wasn't expecting.

I have one question. Those cabinets... are not substracting from the 62mm width of cargo, are they?

Apart from the very obvious Eagle influence, the pod also reminds me of the Narcissus (Nostromo's escape pod):

Not bad. Not bad at all. You've nailed it.
Now onto the detailing, and the engineering of making it all work as a model. :whip:
