Wow, these are gorgeous! Y'know, I've never bought any Grymm (great sculpts, but I wouldn't have anything to do with them), but that Hayden (c) is very tempting...

I'd like to see what you can do with Hayden B, Martin.

Nice sci fi one

P-90?
cut-down P90...Kev reduced the length of the suppressor on the front plus shaved off 1.5mm off the stock so it fits the Grymn.

whilst here, i have just authorised Grey Matter to make the sub-masters and get them into resin production moulds...woohooo, more pretty resin toys to play with!

Don't generally buy Sci-Fi minis but that one is the nicest miniature that Kev has done for a long while (that's just my opinion obviously), really great mini.

Kev reduced the length of the suppressor on the front

Also known as the barrel to the rest of us  :erm:.

No, also known to laymen as a "silencer", although they don't actually silence anything.

Suppressors screw over part of the front end of the barrel.

I thought they helped suppress noise as well as muzzle flash? Not being difficult but the closest I'll get to them is on BF3 where I do not expect them to be anything remotely like real life...

Great sculpts, Kev. Still haven't bought any Grymn, these may just tip me over the edge...and those are the most realistic funbags I've ever seen in 28mm  :notworthy:

Didn't say "it turned gun shots into a whisper" :P , but if there is no sound suppression then why do they exist?

Very nice sculpt Kev!  I really like the scifi one!

Suppressors do work.  It depends on what you are trying to suppress.

I've used one on a .22 and I can tell you from first hand experience it was pretty darn quiet.  I could use it indoors without ear protection.

If you were in your home watching TV and I was in my yard next door with an unsuppressed .22 You would probably hear it.  But with the suppressed .22... my bet is most people wouldn't notice it.  No, it doesn't turn the "Bang" into a "Phut", but the results are noticeable.
: Re: Hayden (b) and Hayden (c). WARNING BOOBIES OUT!
: leadhead March 27, 2012, 03:12:59 PM
What kind of .22 are you using??  I do target practice with .22 rifles and don't use hearing protection because the human body makes louder noises without expelling anything.  Not to be crude or anything.

I'm sorry I should have been more precise.   When out doors with just my .22 I don't normally use hearing protection.  But often I'm also shooting .40, .357, .38, etc.  so I'm wearing it and don't take it off when I switch to my .22

However I also shoot indoors and a .22, unsuppressed can be pretty loud.

To the specifics of your question I have several .22 pistols and rifles.  I've only used a suppressor indoors with the pistol.

Both sculpts are outstanding!  But my hat (shirt?) is off to the Sci-fi version ... the hair gives it a punk/80s feel to me that is just too much.
